Futur X Change
FuturXchange is an exchange between diverse designers and contemporary visual artists initiated by @hendrik.schwedt and Bureau Hardy Seiler. Dialogue, networking, development, change and therefore progress and innovation were the focus of FuturXchange. Following an open call, a total of 16 designers, illustrators, typographers, painters and street artists met over two weekends and created artworks together. During four workshops, the participants learned or deepened their skills in various production techniques like laser cutting, screen printing, letterpress, stone working and tattooing.
An exciting symbiosis was created through the use of older techniques such as stone carving and newer techniques such as laser cutting. What is the attraction of working with which technique and what possibilities do the individual techniques offer? What contrasts become apparent in the production technique and what are the differences in materiality? The results and insights are as varied as the artists and designers, as diverse as the methods and materials. The inspiring dialogue as well as the personal reflection gave a lasting impulse to intensify such meetings and to organise further artistic-cultural projects in the future.
